It has a diverse and colorful culture . It has a hot semi-arid climate and a high amount of sunny days. Solutions for hot days vary in Indian architecture. One of them is using thick masonry or concrete wall . These walls help to cool the space, create shadow and control the air movement . Evaporative cooling also another feature that seen in Indian architecture. Neighboring countries solve this problem by using windcatchers . This system also resembles the evaporative cooling system of Indian architecture . I inspired these features and I designed series of walls that create wind corridors . Then I placed windcatchers end of the corridors and collected wind that created in the corridor. REVISITING FUTURISM: AN URBAN UTOPIA FOR AN ALTERNATIVE FUTURE

The Strip Group Members: Asrın Onat Şengül, Begüm Şener, Safiye Bilge Doğan We proposed a future city in 2080, Pyramiden/ Svalbard . Pyramiden was a utopia in its time. It is an old Soviet city and there is a coal mine that was the only mainstay. Cultural activities were supported in the city, and citizens had a  colorful life . Their life was over the standards. Also, the city plan was similar as Russian city plans. It based on linearity and equality . Also, in Svalbard, there is a seed vault . We think that from 2020 to 2080 climate change affect the sea level and water will increase , and people will escape to northern places . Also, consumption will increase due to overpopulation and natural order will be diminished . Scientists will start to research agriculture, natural seeds, and foods. Because of the location and its feature, Pyramiden has the potential to research so that scientists will move to Pyramiden. They will organize the soil and use natural seeds in Svalbard...

A Performative Space for Imaginations in Flux - An Experimental Avant-Garde Theatre in Phocaea

Curvestone Phocaea , which is a multi-layered town dated to Pre-historical, Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Genoese and Ottoman periods, is one of the oldest and historical districts in İzmir. It hosts to high number of archeological sites, and the historical and natural texture of the city is preserved. The most important architectural element is stone in Phocaea since the archaic period to the present. The oldest stone structure is ovoid houses in the Phocaea and in Anatolia in the 14th century BC. Another old stone structure is city walls from the ancient world in the beginning of the 6th century BC. Moreover, tower houses are another stone structure from Ottoman period . In addition to tower houses, there are examples of civil architecture from the 19th century, and construction material of these houses is Lithos Phokaikos that is a special stone to Phocaea.
