FINAL JURY ASSIGNMENT.2

Image
#SEVENTEEN Requirements: Your model should be (aproxx. 60.000cm^3)  You should use black cardboard for folded surface. Posters that express your development of the folded surface, design ideas and concepts. The poster size should be 35cm*50cm and its multiples, depending on your drowings. However, all your posters have to be the same size and should be used in the same direction. My main idea was creating three different continues surfaces and interrelated voids with them. To create my surfaces I used triangular shapes. I created my triangular shapes on the black cardboard and I use them other surfaces, too. Also, I created my voids on the cardboard and translucent surfaces, that I hatched them on my developments, and I repeated them on my mesh surface.

Translucent surface metarials : wire mesh, translucent acetate paper Stick metarials: wooden sticks , metal wire (in any thckness and cross-section) Design a total number of seventeen interrelated volumes with varying qualities (scale, proportion, surface qualities/ metarials, permeability, accessibility, level of illumination etc.) You need to follow some rules while designing:  You are required to use one single cardoard elements as a continuous surface that folds and bends throughout the design. In addition to the cardboard, you are required to select and use at least three materials from the list given above. Design three related voids by using two surface elements and minimum ten linear design elements. 2. For the surface elements, choose one opaque and one translucent metarial type from the list above. 3. For your linear elements, choose one metarial type from the list above, You are allowed to use minimum ten linear elements of any length. 4. Your design should occupy approx. 100000 cm^3 volume. I had made 2 cylindrical tube with surface elements and one bridge with sticks element. There is not any relation and it was broken in the panel discussion. 2. part of assignment was related with 5 voids. Criticism : It is just like a box and voids does not have any relation. It gives you sense of 2.5 D design. Criticism...

Your design should be approx. 1000cm2 from the top (or bottom) view. Poster: Plan of both sides. Section which reflects your principles. Diagrams related your principles. My principle is hierarchy and you can see it all over my design. I hatched my group on my plan which are 3 squaare and one pralelogram. and I used trapezoid as a connector of my groups and elements.
