THE NEIGHBORHOOD of SULUHAN ARKASI STREET Group members: Begüm Şener, Ozan Uysal, H.Büşra Öztürk, M.Enes Balcı, Nima Mahboubi Mamaghani Ulus is one of the most important centers of Ankara. Also, we learned that, in this street, there was a very alive neighborhood before demolished buildings, and we think that a lively neighborhood in Ulus is a very strong social value . Moreover, façades of the buildings have an architectural and educational value since they are made of different materials from different periods. Also, some part of the infill elements become empty which gives us to chance to observe the structural system , too so that we keep the historical façades which are face with the street. And we support them with consolidating the old structural system. By consolidating, we used a timber frame structure. And we reconstruct other façades with the materials which are already using in this area. We think that this is a more suitable way to protect the area. Also, loc...

The CRACK Group members: Begüm Şener, Beyza Uysal, Ebrar Sayın, Furkan Türker, Hatice Büşra Öztürk, Yaşar Alp Kahramanoğlu The program which is given is in Bahçelievler/Ankara. It is a group work that consists of 3+3 people. Also, the scheme is given 6 blocks next to each other and is placed half of the site. Because of the blocks' location, the inner part of the block can not reach sunlight. To solve this problem, firstly we shifted inner blocks so that we can create more façade . Secondly, we create a CRACK inside the blocks and, blocks can get sunlight from inside the crack . Also, this crack creates a shortcut for people who already have on the site. Also, we want to increase the permeability of our project so that we elevated 2 blocks for 1 level and we create 2 porosity lines. Also, these lines create a focus on the green area. TRANSVALLEY #SL1 Project - Transitional space by the road The site was unknown and the road was a fast road. We are asking to reach 8m height. I want to emphasize the depth of the topography. TRANSVALLEY The given site is in the salt lake. The project consists of 3 phases. In the 1. phase we were asked to design a transitional space by the road. The road isn't a fast road. The 2. phase of the project is designing the experiential route from the road to the lake, and in the last phase of the project, we are asking to design a nature observatory by the lake. Moreover, during the process, we are asking to select some keywords according to our experiences and feelings on the site and use them in our projects. My keywords are hidden, reflection and contrast.  My idea is emphasizing the depth of the site and using the topography levels so I substruct the soil from the road to the lake. and I placed my nodes continuation of my paths. I want to create harmony. When you first enter the site, the first thing you see is the pure beauty of the site. Then my first node takes you inside. PlayWALL In this assignment, we are required to design a wall for children to play on/in. This wall is expected to be able to accommodate a set of play activities (climbing, swinging, hiding, jumping etc.) and also unfold new events that are associated with / entailed by the act of play in (resting, socializing etc.). While doing so, we will challenge both the physical characteristic of walls (impenetrable, solid, static) as well as the concept of a wall that is traditionally associated with separation, isolation or segregation. In this assignment, we are working in groups of three. The scale of the model and the drawings are 1/20. In this assignment, we used cellular organization, triangular cells, and their variation. We changed cell's sections according to the activity pattern of children.

#SEVENTEEN Requirements: Your model should be (aproxx. 60.000cm^3)  You should use black cardboard for folded surface. Posters that express your development of the folded surface, design ideas and concepts.The poster size should be 35cm*50cm and its multiples, depending on your drowings. However, all your posters have to be the same size and should be used in the same direction. My main idea was creating three different continues surfaces and interrelated voids with them. To create my surfaces I used triangular shapes. I created my triangular shapes on the black cardboard and I use them other surfaces, too. Also, I created my voids on the cardboard and translucent surfaces,that I hatched them on my developments, and I repeated them on my mesh surface.
