Term Project of Structural Design in Architecture

Grup members: Begüm ŞENER, Ebrar SAYIN, Yaşar Alp KAHRAMANOĞLU
    

The aim of the project is to handle structural and architectural design together. This was a group project and we are expected to design our dream house and develop our own program requirements ourselves. Having the project site given below, groups are responsible for providing a minimum of two stories in the design (one of which could be a basement) and satisfying the listed requirements;


- Floor plans, sections, and elevations (showing structural system) 
- Axonometric views showing the building from the exterior 
- Axonometric views showing the structural system 
- A report including calculations and the above-required drawings.

EXAMPLES OF DESIGN PRINCIPLES FROM CAMPUS  DOMINANCE - CONTRAST This is an example of dominance-contrast .  The MM building is the dominance building in the campus. Because of its height, it is contrasting with the other buildings. Also, it has figure-ground relationship because we cannot understan which one is figure and which one is ground. HIERARCHY These are an examples of  hierarchy . The height of buildings is changing  bottom to the top. In the first picture, the low part of building is the largest part while the high part is the smallest. In the second picture, the curvilinier part is more remarkable due to its height and its diifferent shape. RHYTHM This is an example of rhyhtm . Niches, windows, air conditions and doors are repeating and creating a rhyhm. Also, air conditions are in different directions so they have variation in repetition .
